Two of my previous projects resulted in Trilium notes and SearXNG running on my home server. Both truly amazing pieces of open source software.

Privacy, SearXNG#

Maybe many people do not care, but I feel my personal data and privacy are important and I know for a fact that most people are unaware of the depth and invasiveness with which they are being monitored, tracked and traced. I can wholeheartedly recommend SearXNG, an open source search engine that aggregates search results and strips all of your personal data from the requests: SearXNG

Note taking app, Trilium#

If you, like me, were/are looking for a note taking app with al lot of functionality that is open source, take a look at Trilium notes. I think it is amazing that they have so much functionality in and open source app compared to the popular commercial Evernote for example.
